# 11 Project Words of Tomorrow

**Encryption workflow layer for the lab** — deployment and encryption rules across settings/collaborators, kept as one practical policy.

## Tracking & hub

- **This project:** [BOUNTY_BOARD.md](BOUNTY_BOARD.md) · [WORLDLINE.md](WORLDLINE.md)
- **Vault:** [Lab protocol](../README.md#lab-protocol) · [Vault bounty](../BOUNTY_BOARD.md) · [Vault session](../WORLDLINE.md) · **[All projects hub →](../README.md#project-workflow-index-all-links)**
- **Canonical onboarding:** [../README.md](../README.md)

## What lives here

Use this tree for **mapping and decisions** about whole-vault boundaries (OneDrive, git, future backups, handoff disks). **Secrets still do not belong in git** — no API keys, passwords, or key material in tracked files.

- **[WRITE_STANDARD.md](WRITE_STANDARD.md)** — prose norms for lab-facing text (when you use them).
- **[PROTOCOL_WORDS_OF_TOMORROW.md](PROTOCOL_WORDS_OF_TOMORROW.md)** — canonical read-layer protocol (failure envelope + O5 authority).
- **`sensory/`** — HDC “smell / pressure / vibes” helpers (linked from [Lab protocol](../README.md#lab-protocol) quick reference).

## Fused policy (canonical)

### Axiom

**Either encrypt the whole vault for a boundary, or accept plaintext for that boundary.**
No long-term policy of “encrypt only some folders.”

### Current replicas (truth)

| Replica | Role | Current posture |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Local working copy | Obsidian + editors + scripts | Plaintext while working |
| OneDrive | Cloud sync of this vault path | Full-folder replica |
| Git remote | Version history + collaboration | Full-folder replica of what is committed |

### Ownership boundary

Project 11 owns:

- deployment + encryption policy across settings/collaborators
- boundary decisions (what envelope is being shipped)
- release gates before sharing/deploying

Project 11 does not own:

- Technomancer tape internals ([03](../03_Project_Technomancer/README.md))
- root lab protocol ([README](../README.md))
- constitutional language scope ([04](../04_Project_Constitution/README.md))

### Release gates (minimal)

1. Name the envelope being shipped (folder, clone, disk image, tarball).
2. Decide all-or-none encryption for that envelope.
3. Confirm no keys/tokens/passwords are in tracked content or messages.
4. Record destination + whether that shipped envelope was encrypted.

If any gate is unclear, do not ship.

### Unification note

Superseded split docs were fused here and archived at:

**Related projects (by concern):**

| Concern | See |
| --- | --- |
| Append-only witness, identity tape | [03 Technomancer](../03_Project_Technomancer/README.md) |
| Rights / commitments / treaty language | [04 Constitution](../04_Project_Constitution/README.md) |
| Warp / remote edge | [08 Astronomicon](../08_Project_Astronomicon/README.md) |

### Read/Write layer split

- **Read layer (world-facing):** Project 11 protocol canonical at [PROTOCOL_WORDS_OF_TOMORROW.md](PROTOCOL_WORDS_OF_TOMORROW.md)
- **Write layer (lab-facing machinery):** Project 08 Astronomicon runtime and worker contracts

## Memory and sovereignty

> *Without body, one has no agency. Without mind, they have no freedom. Without memory, one has nothing.*

**Words of Tomorrow** is **memory under constraint**: encryption is how sovereignty extends to **bits** — who can read them, when they can be copied, and what survives past a session. Lab-wide: [Memory and sovereignty](../README.md#memory-and-sovereignty).

## Workflow protocol

Follow [README § Lab protocol](../README.md#lab-protocol) — add/claim/solve/retract bounties, read-before-write, Definition of Done. Put new scripts and docs under this project (e.g. `docs/`, `checklists/`, `_archive/`); log paths in the bounty board **Where** column.

*Project **11** — encryption workflow layer. Name evokes commitments that outlast the present.*
